Description
This sea embankment stretches from Saintes Maries-de-la-Mer to Salin-de-Giraud and crosses the southern sector of the Camargue Nature Reserve. It offers 20 km of foot and cycle paths from which you can discover the wild open spaces of the lagoons and saltmarshes. The track across the embankment is open throughout the year. It is strictly forbidden to leave the track and venture onto the dunes, even on foot. So please respect this!
Birds you can see here all year round : Flamingo roz, Călifar alb, Lopătar, Ciocîntors, Culic mare, Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Pescăruș cu cap negru, Prundăraș de sărătură, Silvie de tufiș, Ciocârlan. In summer: Chiră mică, Scoicar, Fâsă de câmp, Codobatură galbenă. In winter: Fugaci de țărm, Fugaci mic, Nisipar. During migration: Pescăriță mare and Culic mic.
