Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile. The reedbeds and wetlands line the shore on both sides of the bridge to the mainland. Look for Egretă mică, Stârc de cireadă, Stârc roșu, Găinușă albastră, Șoimul rândunelelor, Vânturel mic, Erete de stuf, Pescăraș pestriț, Uligan pescar, Gaie cenușie, wintering dabbling ducks and waders.
The hotel gardens are a refuge for smaller birds and migrants such as Prigorie, Prigorie mică, Grangur, Ciuș, Pupăză, Turturică, Caprimulg, Capîntortură, Sfrâncioc roșiatic and various warblers.

Access
Luxor is a popular tourist destination with its own airport. Trains from Cairo take about 10 hours. Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile just south of Luxor. From the city centre there are plentiful buses and taxis.
