Description
Chropyňský pond and surroundings are part the Upper Moravian Valley and a protected area. It houses a big colony of Pescăruș râzător. In the past sometimes even up to 5000 pairs (one of the most numerous colonies in Central Europe). There is irregular nestling of Corcodel cu gât negru and many common and less common wetland birds can be seen here. Like Lăcar mare, Lăcar mic, Rață cârâitoare, Lișiță, Găinușă de baltă, Corcodel mare, Corcodel mic, Stârc pitic, Presură de stuf and Fluierar de munte. The pond is also visited by Uligan pescar, Erete de stuf, Stârc cenușiu, Nagâț and Pescăraș albastru.

Access
On the northern side of the pond is a parking place (see the P on the map). From there you can make a circular walk (2 km) around the pond. You will pass the observation tower on the northwestern edge of the pond. The tower is 7 m high, the covered viewing platform is located at a height of 3 m.
