The banks of Lake Panguipulli near the town of Panguipulli are a wetland that attracts many birds.
The Panguipulli Lake is of glacial origin and it is enclosed by mountain ranges of the Andes, on all sides except the west, where the town of Panguipulli lies in the Chilean Central Valley. From the banks of the lake near Panguipulli you can overlook a wetland area where many birds can be observed. Among the birds you can observe are Yellow-billed Teal, Pied-billed Grebe, Great Grebe, Red-gartered Coot, Brown-hooded Gull, Southern Lapwing, Black-faced Ibis, Snowy Egret and Chimango Caracara.
