The landscape around Ivaylovgrad Reservoir has a mosaic of habitats consisting of bushes, trees and grassy vegetation on the bank of this large fresh-water body with shallow water along the banks. An interesting combination of dry habitats and a wetland. In spring and summer the site can produce good views of Silvie porumbacă and Silvie estică de grădini. During the migration periods (March-May and July-October) Rață cârâitoare, Piciorong, Ciocîntors, Fluierar de zăvoi and other birds can be observed. In winter time Lebădă de vară, Călifar alb, Ferestraș mare and other waterfowl is possible.
Other birds that can been observed include Stârc galben, Vultur sur, Gaie neagră, Codalb, Cucuvea, Pupăză, Prigorie, Ciocănitoare pestriță mică, Grangur, Sfrâncioc roșiatic, Sfrâncioc cu cap roșu, Ciocârlie de pădure, Frunzăriță balcanică, Rândunică roșcată, Privighetoare roșcată, Black-headed wagtail, Presură cu cap negru and Presură sură.

Access
Ivaylovgrad Reservoir is located near the village of Borislavtsi. The area is easy accessable, it is possible to stop near the road (road is far from busy), near a water spring. Press P on the map for directions. Very scarce public transport (once-twice a day). Easy to walk and explore quite a large area around. It is safe to leave the car near the road. In general you can see most of the birds in the area in one to one and a half hours.
