Description

The area of Oude Leie Gottem and the Perenboomplas consists of an old Leie meander where Stufărică breeds in the reed collar of this meander. In the winter period you can also sometimes find Ferestraș mare and Rață moțată. Adjacent to the meander there is a newly excavated large pond where various wading birds forage such as Fluierar de munte, Nagâț and Fluierar de zăvoi. During the spring and autumn migration you have a chance of just about anything that stops in the area for a while. Think of Bătăuș, Fluierar negru, Piciorong. The reed zone bordering the meadow is a breeding ground for Erete de stuf.
