Description
The Koppenbergbos is a deciduous forest where you can enjoy woodpeckers such as Ciocănitoare pestriță mare as a common species and the Ciocănitoare de stejar as the rarest. The large trees and the low-lying wood are good for Țiclean, Cojoaică cu degete scurte and Pițigoi sur. The bushes are home to smaller songbirds such as Aușel sprâncenat, Aușel cu cap galben and classics such as Cinteză, Silvie cu cap negru supplemented with Cinteză de iarnă in winter. For several years now, as in many forests in the Flemish Ardennes, there has been the presence of Buhă.

Nederlands: Het Koppenbergbos is een hellingbos met als primaire soorten beuken als boomsoort waar je kan genieten van Țiclean, Pițigoi sur en andere soorten. In dit loofhoutbos kun je spechten als Ciocănitoare pestriță mare zien als algemene soort en ook de Ciocănitoare de stejar als de meeste zeldzame. De grote bomen en het middelhout is dan weer goed voor Țiclean, Cojoaică cu degete scurte en Pițigoi sur. In de struiken zitten de kleinere zangers zoals Aușel sprâncenat, Aușel cu cap galben en de klassiekers zoals Cinteză, Silvie cu cap negru aangevuld met Cinteză de iarnă in de winter. Sinds enkele jaren is er de aanwezigheid zoals in vele bossen in de Vlaamse Ardennen van Buhă.

Access
The Koppenbergbos is located just south of Oudenaarde. There is a parking lot at the end of the Maria van der Gheynststraat. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The circular walk indicated on the map is approximately 4 km.
