Description

Les Décanteurs de la Sucrerie de Genappe was created in 2015 and covers 77 hectares. The settling tank of the former sugar factory attracts many birds and is a good wintering site. Lots of water birds can be observed like Călifar alb, Rață lingurar, Rață moțată, Corcodel micand Rață mică, and also reed birds like Cârstel de baltă, Presură de stuf, Lăcar de stuf and Lăcar de mlaștină.

Access

Décanteur de Genappe is located to the west of the town of Genappe. Park near the Ravel cyclepath and walk from there. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The path is signposted.
