Description
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like Sitar de mal , Ciocîntors , Fluierar de munte , Fluierar cu picioare verzi , Fluierar negru , Fluierar de mlaștină , Fugaci de țărm. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see Boicuș and Pițigoi de stuf in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like Grelușel pătat , Gușă vânătă , Lăcar mic and Lăcar de stuf are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
