Description

The 12 hectares of the area consist of four former fish ponds in the Molenbeek valley. The ponds have been managed in a nature-friendly way for ten years. They are a good place to make the first spring observations of Corcodel mic , Corcodel mare , Pescăraș albastru , Lăcar de stuf , Cormoran mare . During the winter half-year, in addition to modest numbers of Rață moțată, Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață mică are present. Other species are seen to a lesser extent Rață pestriță, Rață lingurar, Rață cârâitoare , Stârc pitic.

In recent years many rareties were seen during migration, like Corcodel cu gât negru, Corcodel cu gât roșu, Buhai de baltă, Boicuș, Rață neagră ,Stârc galben.

By car: Park Abbey, Abdij van Park 7, 3001 Leuven. And then walking. The circular route (see the map) is about 2.5 km.
