The area around the Wibau gravel ponds near Marchtrenk is one of the ornithological hotspots in central Upper Austria. Expected breeding bird species include Culic mare, Nagâț, Potârniche, Sfrâncioc roșiatic and Silvie cu cap negru. With a little luck, one or the other rare, migratory species can also be observed.
