Big area of approximately 800 hectares of great scenic beauty with moorland, patches of woodland and meadows. Still rich in meadowbirds.
While the northern part of the Lauteracher Ried, with its large tree population of birches and oaks, conveys an almost park-like character, the Ried opens up to the south to an extensive, woody moor landscape. Lauteracher Ried is one of the last places in Vorarlberg, where some meadowbirds like Nagâț, Culic mare and Becațină comună are still breeding. Because of this, it's important to not enter the meadows and moorlands and stick to the roads. Other birds to observe are for example Mărăcinar mare and Cristel de câmp. Sometimes there are also rarities spotted like Gaie cenușie.
Parking can only be done outside the area. Click on the p in the map for directions. There are only hikingtrails to explore the area.
