Description

The Monsoon Rain-forest walk here is a go-to location for the beautiful Rainbow Pitta. Other birds to look for include Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove, Pacific Emerald Dove, Shining Flycatcher, Sahul Brush Cuckoo and Little Kingfisher. The circuit walk is 2 km long and follows a stream with monsoon forest on one side and open woodland on the other.

Large Barramundi, Yellow-faced Turtles, other species of fish and File Snakes are in the Reserve's pool and the overflow weir and can often be seen from a bridge that makes part of the circuit walk.

Access

Howard Springs Nature Park is 27 km south-east of Darwin. Travel south on the Stuart Highway and turn east off the Highway onto Howard Springs Road and follow the signs from there. Press P on the map to access Google mapping.
