Description

Honeyeater Picnic Area and the White Box walk, in Chiltern-Mount Pilot National Park offer excellent birding, particularly when the Ironbarks are flowering in winter and spring.

The White Box walking track (8.5 km loop) is a very enjoyable walk through lovely open eucalypt woodland. Sought after birds to look for include Turquoise Parrot, Black-chinned Honeyeater, White-throated Treecreeper and White-throated Nightjar.

The wildflowers here during spring and early summer are exceptional. Many orchids, lilies, grevilleas and pea bushes come into flower. Interpretive signage and Parks brochures are available at the picnic area information board.
