Description
Hrazdan Reservoir is a calm and open waterbody located in the town of Hrazdan, surrounded by gentle hills and patches of reed and grass. The mix of open water and shoreline vegetation attracts a variety of waterbirds and wetland species. You can often see Stârc cenușiu, Corcodel mare, Egretă mică, Sfrâncioc roșiatic and various species of ducks and gulls. During migration, the reservoir becomes a stopover for waders and other passing birds. Its easy access, scenic views, and good birding opportunities make it a pleasant stop for birdwatchers exploring the Kotayk region.

Hrazdan Reservoir is located in the town of Hrazdan in Kotayk Province, about 50 km north of Yerevan. It can be reached by car via the M4 highway or by public transport from Yerevan to Hrazdan (marshrutkas 270/273 from Raikom bus stop to School #2 stop). Parking is available near the reservoir, though some areas may require walking short distances. The site is best explored on foot or bycicle along the shoreline and nearby paths. A typical visit takes 2–6 hours, depending on bird activity and season. The circular route shown on the map is about 5 km.
