Green-Wood Cemetery contains hilly, open fields with trees dotted around, as well as multiple ponds. Year-round. Monk Parakeet can be seen nesting in the main entrance on 25th Street, as well as great views of Belted Kingfisher throughout the cemetery. During winter, ducks such as Hooded Merganser and Ring-necked Duck can be found in the cemetery's many water bodies. In the spring and fall migration seasons, many warblers and other migratory birds will pass through the area, such as Blue Grosbeak , and occasionally the rare Mississippi Kite. During the summer, you will find breeding Warbling Vireo, Baltimore Oriole, Cedar Waxwing, Brown Thrasher and Great Crested Flycatcher.

Green-Wood Cemetery is located centrally in Brooklyn, accessible from the 36th and 25th Street stations on the D, N, and R lines. Opening hours 8am–6pm. The roads in the cemetery are drivable, making car birding possible, although it is not ideal. Biking is also possible, but may require some caution due to the topography. Make sure to allow 2-3 hours for your visit.
