The beautiful cliff faces of this island form great locations for colonies of many different birds, including Gralha-de-bico-vermelho, Fulmar-glacial, Torda-mergulheira, Pardela-sombria, Arau-comum, Ganso-patola, falcão-peregrino and peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro, with grey seals populating some of the beaches. Many of these can be observed quite well from both the island itself or from the water. Other birds, such as Mocho-galego and Chasco-cinzento, are also present on the island.
