Descrição
Montrose Basin is an enclosed estuary of the river South Esk covering 750 hectares, home to over 80,000 migratory birds – including Ganso-de-bico-curto, Andorinha-do-mar-árctica, Seixoeira and Felosa-dos-juncos. The area is flat. This tidal basin is an important roosting and feeding area for a variety of passage migrants, and is internationally important for breeding Eider-edredão and wintering waders and wildfowl. The Montrose Basin Visitor Centre is easy to find. From the visitor centre you can observe the Andorinha-das-barreiras (Apr to Aug) and other birds all day long. When the tide is high you can see many seabirds and waders close by.
