Lavernock Point usual seawatch species eg Ostraceiro, Pato-preto, Ganso-patola, Fulmar-glacial, Moleiro-grande, petrels, Gaivota-tridáctila, falcão-peregrino, Gaivota-de-cabeça-preta and terns. Breeding species include Papa-amoras-comum, Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto and Petinha-marítima. Migrating flocks of Tordo-ruivo-comum, Tordo-zornal, Pintarroxo-comum, waders, Pintassilgo and 1,000s of Pombo-torcaz. The beach is good for triassic and jurassic fossils such as ammonites, giant oysters, bones and teeth of marine reptiles. The sea here has a high tidal range and sweeps in very quickly. Check tide times (see the link below) before venturing to the shoreline and avoid overhanging cliffs.
