Blakeney Point is a National Nature Reserve and AONB. Thriving nesting site for Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Andorinha-do-mar-árctica, Garajau-comum and Andorinha-do-mar-anã. Also Guincho-comum and occasional Gaivota-de-cabeça-preta. Common and grey seals breed. Winter wildfowl such as Eider-edredão, Pato-preto and Ganso-de-bico-curto. And rare passage autumn migrants such as Picanço-grande, Petinha de Richard, Felosa-bilistada and Toutinegra-gavião. Felosa-dos-juncos and rouxinol-dos-caniços in the reed beds.

Parking at Cley for those attempting the long difficult walk on shifting shingle to the point. NB the Visitor Centre is currently closed. Park at Morton Quay or Blakeney Quay for boat trips. Check tide times as the car park can get flooded, also boats only run 4 hours either side of high tide. See the link to the tides table below.
