Before driving on to the bird station, which is located on the southernmost point of the island of Öland, a stop in Ottenby Lund Nature Reserve is worthwhile. Papa-figos is an annual visitor. Other birds you can encounter are Papa-moscas-de-colar, Torcicolo, Águia-pesqueira, Milhafre-real, Cuco-canoro, Pica-pau-preto, Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno and Bútio-vespeiro.

There are 2 parking spaces, Södra and Norra Parking. The area is fine for exploring on foot. There is a very high bird watch tower. Of course there is a lot of birdlife to see in the forest, but also along the edge you have a lookout over a large wetland (in winter), a large dry plain in summer. Ideal for birds of prey such as Ógea and falcão-peregrino. The route shown on the map is about 5 km long.
