The Lillfjärden lake is primarily known for its geese. Ganso-de-faces-brancas, Ganso-comum, and Ganso do Canadá all breed. The lake also holds the entire swedish non-breeding population of Ganso-pequeno-de-testa-branca. Other geese like Ganso-grande-de-testa-branca, Ganso-campestre, Ganso-de-bico-curto can often be found. Some years Tundra Bean Goose and Ganso-de-faces-negras are also found during migration periods.
The lakes rocky coast is also often home to waders like Perna-vermelha-escuro, Perna-vermelha-comum, Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira (breeds), Ostraceiro (breeds), and Combatente. The lake holds large amounts of Pato-real and smaller amounts of other dabbling ducks. Even species which are rare in northern areas like Frisada, Pato-trombeteiro and Marreco. Smaller amounts of diving ducks can often be found. Wintering Tagarela-europeu and Pintarroxo-de-bico-grosso are often found. Although the numbers vary widely.

The lake lies directly north to the center of Hudiksvall. There are many places to park the car. Click on the P in the map to get directions. You can make a circular walk around the lake (2,5 km).
