Lake Lagårdssjön in Strömsholm is ranked as one of the best birding sites in Västmanland. From a nice platform (that is handicapped accessible) you have a good view over the wetland. Especially in the spring, the lake is well visited by ducks, geese and waders. A spotting scope is a must. Among the birds you can encounter are Maçarico-bastardo, Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira, Águia-rabalva, Ganso-comum, Pato-trombeteiro, Gaivina-preta, Grou-comum, Ógea, Narceja-comum, Águia-pesqueira and many more, see the birdlist below.
