Migrating birds (mostly waterfowl) can be found seen from Ekudden. Especially in autumn (September/Oktober). Then Thousands of Ganso-de-faces-brancas, Ganso-de-faces-negras, Piadeira and Eider-edredão have been seen. Hundreds of Marrequinha-comum, Arrabio, Pato-preto and Pato-fusco have been migrating during the right weather.
On the Cobs around Kvädö large colonies of Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas, Andorinha-do-mar-árctica, Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Gaivota-parda and Guincho-comum. There is also one of the few colonies of Gaivina-de-bico-vermelho in Sweden at Röskären. If the weather is harsh, arctic waders sometimes stop on the cobs. The cobs are also one of the best wintering areas for Pilrito-escuro.
The open sea next to Ekudden is often open and holds large amounts of wintering Merganso-grande, Pato-de-cauda-afilada and Pato-olho-d'ouro. Smaller amounts of wintering Pato-preto, Merganso-de-poupa, Pato-branco and Mergulhão-de-crista can be found. During late autumn and winter large amounts (at most 3500) of Pato-olho-d'ouro and Zarro-negrinha winter at Licknewarpsfjärden. Merganso-pequeno, is found up until April but is most common in early December. Smaller amounts of dabbling ducks (Frisada, Piadeira and Marrequinha-comum) and Zarro-comum also winter in the bays. The large area of forests bring wintering Águia-real, Açor and Gavião da Europa. The fields often hold wintering Águia-d'asa-redonda, and cobs Águia-rabalva.
During spring resting loons have been seen. Passerine birds sometimes rest at Ekudden. Rare birds like Pisco-de-peito-azul (northern subsp), Rabirruivo-preto, and Pintarroxo-de-bico-grosso have been seen. Grebes have been seen resting during the spring (Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo, Mergulhão-de-crista (most common), and Mergulhão-de-pescoço-castanho) are often found.

Parking can be done at Licknewarpsfjärden, at Ekudden, and at gamla Fågelvik. There is a Birdwatching tower at Ekudden.
