Apart from the nice view (which is typical of the character of the National park), this viewpoint is a good place to see one of the most iconic birds of the entire region: Abutre-preto which nests on the slopes opposite the viewpoint. Cegonha-preta, Águia-cobreira, Pega-azul, Noitibó-de-nuca-vermelha and Águia-calçada may also be seen.

Easily reached from both Torrejon el Rubio and Plasencia. After crossing the dam over the river Tietar, follow the road, through the pine woodland for a couple of kilometers, the viewpoint is then located on the right side of the road. Check the electricity pylons surrounding the site for Águia-cobreira!
