Descrição
Cueva del Moro is rock in the Sierra de la Plata. Famous among birders because of the rare swifts ( Andorinhão-cafre and Andorinhão-pequeno ) which formerly bred in Cueva del Moro. But you must be lucky to see them nowadays, although they are still observed. Easier to see is the colony of nesting Grifo-comum and the Melro-azul. Other birds you can observe here include falcão-peregrino, Androinha-das-rochas, Abutre do Egipto and during migration Águia-cobreira, Águia-calçada, Bútio-vespeiro and Milhafre-preto. Don't forget to explore the surrounding habitats which are also rich in birds.

Note that there are signs on the way up to the Cueva del Moro warning that it's a military road but the existence of official noticeboards here indicate that access is not banned. The cave itself is high above the road and has ancient rock paintings.
