Close to the village of Svit you can find a series of gravel pits near Batizovce. The lakes are mainly used by anglers and attract a lot of birds. The Batizovské gravel pits also offer great views of the Tatras and the Podtatranska basin. Among the birds you can encounter are Águia-pomarina, Águia-pesqueira, Gaivota-de-patas-amarelas, Marrequinha-comum, Marreco, Escrevedeira-amarela, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Chamariz-comum, Alvéola-cinzenta, Cartaxo-comum and papa-amoras-cinzento.

The area is located 10 km west of the city of Poprad. You can get to the gravel pits by car and explore the area on foot. Note: Some gravel pits are still actively in use and not accessible.
