Descrição
Belo Brdo ('White Hill') is a Neolithic archeological site (4000 B.C.) in Vinča that is also a great place for gull watching. Thousands of gulls come to the Danube River near Vinča in winter. Slower Danube waters near Belo Brdo and nearby Belgrade city's main landfill are two locations where gulls gather at most. Between these two locations is a 'gull highway', with a myriad of gulls flying in both directions over the hilly slopes of Vinča.
Guincho-comum, Gaivota-de-patas-amarelas, and Gaivota-de-patas-amarelas are common in winter, while Gaivota-parda and gaivota-da-asa-escura are very often spotted. Although they are pretty rare in Serbia, occasional sightings of Gaivota-argêntea and Alcatraz-comum, are not uncommon in Vinča.

There are two good spots to watch gulls in Vinča. One is near the archeological site Belo Brdo and the other, maybe even better, is at the ferry-place. Follow one of the 'P' markings on the map.

Prefer sunny days and check the weather forecast for fog in the early morning. Also note that the Sun can be pretty harsh around noon on very bright days, despite being behind your back.
