Jancão is a place where, over the year, some species have been found that compose a interesting natural mosaic and collection of birds. Although near to some human activities, it remains an interesting area for birdwatching. Among the birds you can encounter are Poupa, Escrevedeira-de-garganta-preta, Cotovia-pequena, Cuco-canoro, Toutinegra-de-cabeça-preta, Mocho-galego, Águia-calçada and picanço-real.

Jancão is located west of the town of Gouveia. Upon arriving at Gouveia, head towards the health center. On the roundabout, take the third exit. Continue until you pass some houses and find a dirt road to your right. Take that road until you find a large meadow to the left, next to an abandoned house. Press P on the map for directions. The suggested walking route on the map is 1 km.
