Gierałtowice is a good place during migration, especially for ducks, birds of prey and waders. At least 150 species of birds have been observed here. Rarer birds observed here include Petinha-de-garganta-ruiva, Narceja-galega, Socó-taquari, falcão-peregrino and Perna-verde-fino.

Gierałtowice is located 20 km west of Katowice. You can leave your car next to the retention reservoir or on one of the streets in the neighborhood. Press on a P on the map for directions. In the field it is best to travel on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 8,5 km.
