At Leksdalsvatnet an island had been created in the lake so that the birds can nest. Abibe-comum, Combatente and Escrevedeira-dos-caniços are some of the common birds that can be observed. From the fugletårn (bird observation tower) you have a good view over the area.

Leksdalvatnet is located south of the town of Steinkjer and northeast of the town of Verdalsøra, about 6 kilometres east of the Trondheimsfjord. You can park your car close to the bird observation tower. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking it is just a 1 minute walk to the tower. The parking spot is close to the road, and contains an infosign that describes the area.
