In the Standdaarbuitense Bos and on the river you will find many songbirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers and birds of prey. Besides birds you can also encounter a deer or squirrel in the forest.

Nederlands: Het Standdaarbuitense Bos is een klein, verstopt bos waar je het niet verwacht: Tussen het dorp Standdaarbuiten, de snelweg A17 en de rivier de Dintel. In het bos en op de Dintel vind je veel zangvogels, watervogels, spechten en roofvogels. Behalve vogels kun je in het bos ook een ree of eekhoorn tegenkomen.

The Standdaarbuitense Bos is accessible from the center of the village of Standdaarbuiten. There are also parking spaces at the forest. Press P on the map for directions to a parking space. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 3 km. Be aware that the forest is very close to the Dintel and the motorway, so there is always some noise. You may also encounter people walking their dogs here. For the photographers: The light is lousy at sunrise.

Nederlands: Het Standdaarbuitense Bos is toegangelijk vanuit het centrum van Standdaarbuiten. Ook zijn er parkeerplaatsen bij het bos. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar een parkeerplaats. De rondwandeling die is weergegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 3 km. Realiseer je wel dat het bos erg dicht bij de Dintel en bij de A17 ligt, dus er is altijd wat geluid. Je kunt ook mensen tegenkomen die hun hond hier uitlaten. Voor de fotografen: Het licht is waardeloos bij zonsopkomst.
