In the Gieten-Borger forestry area there are several dozen small ponds, of which the Lunsveen is one of the largest. A walking route of approximately 3.5 kilometers takes you along the edge of the Lunsveen, the Drouwenerveld heath and through the dense coniferous forests. You will encounter a nice mix of bird species along the way. At the Lunsveen you have a chance of seeing Mergulhão-pequeno, in the forests Pica-pau-preto, Cruza-bico-comum and Chapim-preto, and at the transition between heathland and forest you can often observe Cotovia-pequena.

Nederlands: In de boswachterij Gieten-Borger liggen enkele tientallen vennetjes waarvan het Lunsveen een van de grootste is. Staatbosbeheer heeft hier een wandelroute van ongeveer 3,5 kilometer uitgezet waarmee je aan de rand van het Lunsveen wandelt, door de heide van het Drouwenerveld en door de dichte naaldbossen. Je treft onderweg een mooie mix van vogelsoorten aan. Bij het Lunsveen heb je kans op Mergulhão-pequeno, in de bossen op Pica-pau-preto, Cruza-bico-comum en Chapim-preto en op de overgang tussen heide en bos op Cotovia-pequena.
