The area of Haarzuilens is known for the castle. Just outside the castle gardens, a beautiful nature reserve arises. nature has been restored since 2000. Forests have been planted, but a beautiful wet area has also been created. The area consists of three sections: Klein Nieuwkoop, Het Wielrevelt and Parkbos. Various birds can be seen here: a lot of falcons, but I have also spotted rare birds here such as Felosa-poliglota and Íbis-preta. The area is also home to colonies of Garça-real and Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas. Other nice species are Coruja-do-mato, Guarda-rios-comum and Bico-grossudo. Also Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Perna-vermelha-comum, Felosa-icterina, Papa-moscas-cinzento, chapim-montês, Corvo and Rouxinol-comum can be seen here.

Nederlands: Haarzuilens in de buurt van de stad Utrecht staat bekend om het kasteel. Net buiten de kasteeltuinen is een prachtig natuurgebied ontstaan sinds de natuur daar sinds 2000 is hersteld. Er zijn bossen aangeplant, maar er is ook een prachtig nat gebied gemaakt. Het gebied bestaat uit drie delen: Klein Nieuwkoop, Het Wielrevelt en Parkbos. Diverse vogels zijn hier te zien: veel valken, maar ik heb hier ook zeldzame vogels gezien zoals Felosa-poliglota en Íbis-preta. Het gebied herbergt ook kolonies van Garça-real en Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas. Andere leuke soorten zijn Coruja-do-mato, Guarda-rios-comum en Bico-grossudo. Ook Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Perna-vermelha-comum, Felosa-icterina, Papa-moscas-cinzento, chapim-montês, Corvo en Rouxinol-comum zijn hier te zien.
