Kattenleger is an area where interesting birds are regularly observed. Despite the close proximity of the A15 motorway and the Betuwe railway line, the reed areas in particular offer a chance for nice species such as Abetouro-comum and Chapim-de-bigode. You will almost certainly encounter Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Pintassilgo, rouxinol-dos-caniços and Galinha-d'água but also a chance of Frango-d'água, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis and Mergulhão-pequeno.

Nederlands: Kattenleger is een gebied met rietvelden, weiland en een boomsingel langs Betuwe-spoorlijn waar regelmatig interessante vogelsoorten worden waargenomen. Ondanks nabije aanwezigheid van snelweg A15 en de Betuwe-spoorlijn bieden met name de rietgebieden kans op leuke soorten als Abetouro-comum en Chapim-de-bigode. Vrijwel zeker kom je Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Pintassilgo, rouxinol-dos-caniços en Galinha-d'água tegen, maar ook kans op Frango-d'água, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis en Mergulhão-pequeno.

The area is only accessible by bicycle or on foot. You can park on the edge: from Bemmel, drive into the Plakse Uitweg (dead end) and park at the end. Click on the P in the map for directions.
