Many species of waders rest and forage in the shallows of Hisse- en Pikemar: Abibe-comum, Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Perna-vermelha-comum, Combatente, Maçarico-real . On the water many kinds of ducks and in winter Ganso-de-bico-curto, Ganso-de-faces-brancas and many Ganso-comum throughout the year. During the migration period there are resting Gaivina-de-bico-vermelho. From the vantage point a good overview of the entire area with light from behind.

Nederlands: Hisse- en Pikemar zijn twee ondiepe meertjes met onderwater gezet weiland, riet en moeras tot aan de spoorlijn. In het ondiepe water rusten en foerageren vele soorten steltlopers: Abibe-comum, Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Perna-vermelha-comum, Combatente, Maçarico-real. Op het water vele soorten eenden: Piadeira, Frisada, Marrequinha-comum en in de winter Ganso-de-bico-curto, Ganso-de-faces-brancasen gehele jaar veel Ganso-comum. In de trektijd rusten er Gaivina-de-bico-vermelho. Vanuit het kijkpunt heb je een goed overzicht over het gehele gebied met licht achter je.

From the road Heeg-Oudega, drive into a dead end road to the Putpleats. There P and then continue on foot. From the parking lot it is about 600 meters to walk to the bird watching point. Or by bike along the cycle path to the viewpoint.

Nederlands: Vanaf de weg Heeg-Oudega een doodlopende weg inrijden naar de Putpleats. Daar P en dan verder te voet. Vanaf de parkeerplaats is het ongeveer 600 meter lopen naar het vogelkijkpunt. Of op de fiets langs het fietspad naar kijkheuvel.
