The Flauwers and Wevers Inlagen and the adjacent Prunjepolder, are part of the so called 'Bird Boulevard' of the province of Zeeland. Thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of waders, seagulls, geese and ducks close together in a beautiful brackish, swamp.
In the spring you will find hundreds of nesting birds on the islands in the inlays, including the Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Guincho-comum and Garajau-comum. This area has traditionally been one of the best breeding grounds for Perna-vermelha-comum and Alfaiate in the Netherlands. At high tide birds such as the Tarambola-cinzenta, Maçarico-real, Fuselo, Pilrito-comum and Seixoeira rest and feed in the inlays.

Nederlands: De Flauwers en Wevers Inlagen en de aangrenzende Prunjepolder maken deel uit van de zogenaamde 'Vogelboulevard' van de provincie Zeeland. Duizenden, soms tienduizenden steltlopers, meeuwen, ganzen en eenden dicht bij elkaar in een prachtig brak moeras.
In het voorjaar vind je op de eilanden in de inlagen honderden broedvogels, waaronder de Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Guincho-comum en Garajau-comum. Dit gebied is van oudsher een van de beste broedplaatsen voor Perna-vermelha-comum en Alfaiate in Nederland. Bij vloed rusten vogels als de Tarambola-cinzenta, Maçarico-real, Fuselo, Pilrito-comum en Seixoeira uit of zoeken voedsel in de inlagen.

The Flauwers and Wevers Inlagen are located 5 km north of the town of Zierikzee. A good starting point is the parking space at Flauwers haven. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can park here to explore the area on foot or by bicycle. However, the area is also accessible by car as shown on the route map. It is not possible to enter the area itself. However, the area can be clearly seen from various points along the road with binoculars or a telescope.

Nederlands: De Flauwers and Wevers Inlagen liggen 5 kilometer ten noorden van Zierikzee. Een goed startpunt is de parkeerplaats bij Flauwershaven. Klik op de P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving. Je kunt hier parkeren en van daaruit wandelend of fietsend de omgeving verkennen. Het gebied is echter ook per auto bereikbaar zoals aangegeven op de routekaart. Het is niet mogelijk om het gebied zelf te betreden. Het gebied is echter vanaf verschillende punten langs de weg duidelijk te overzien met een verrekijker of een telescoop.

The Flauwers and Wevers Inlagen are part of Plan Tureluur (Plan Perna-vermelha-comum), 33 projects with a total of 4400 hectares of new nature. The largest area is along the south coast of Schouwen, (around 1000 hectares) between Zierikzee and Serooskerke.
