The Devel is a river and nature reserve west of the city of Zwijndrecht. The stream meanders over a length of more than eight kilometers from Zwijndrecht to the Oude Maas. In this part of the Devel near Heerjansdam, the river with water and reeds is surrounded by forest and grassland. It is a small area but worth a visit. Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis breeds in the reeds. But you can also find Abetouro-comum, Frango-d'água, Felosa-unicolor and Pisco-de-peito-azul here.

Nederlands: De Devel is een riviertje en natuurgebied in de Zwijndrechtse Waard, ten westen van de stad Zwijndrecht. Het stroompje slingert over een lengte van ruim acht kilometer vanaf Zwijndrecht naar de Oude Maas. In dit deel van de Devel bij Heerjansdam is het riviertje met water en riet omringt door bos en grasland. Het is klein maar de moeite waard. In het riet broedt de Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis. Maar ook de Abetouro-comum, Frango-d'água, Felosa-unicolor en Pisco-de-peito-azul kun je hier aantreffen.

The Devel is located west of the city of Zwijndrecht and east of Heerjansdam. You can park on the side of the road. From there, continue on foot.

Nederlands: De Devel ligt ten westen van de stad Zwijndrecht en ten oosten van Heerjansdam. Je kunt in de berm parkeren. Vandaar verder te voet. Het is niet groot maar alleen al vanwege de Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis de moeite waard.
