The area consists of a few small shallow lakes. In winter, 10 species of ducks can be found here, as well as herons. In summer, waders and Colhereiro can be found, as wel as Felosa-dos-juncos and Felosa-unicolor. But also a chance on nice birds as Marreco, Franga-d'água-grande and Mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto.
