The Bieslandse Bos is a diverse nature reserve situated in the middle of an urban area between The Hague, Pijnacker, Nootdorp, and Delft. The area is relatively young. The excavation of the shallow water features with gently sloping banks only began in the mid-1980s. Since then, the Bieslandse Bos has grown into a varied wooded area with open spaces. Thanks to the wide variety of landscapes, you can encounter many different bird species. In the reed beds, you can find Pisco-de-peito-azul, rouxinol-dos-caniços, Felosa-dos-juncos, Felosa-unicolor, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Frango-d'água, and sometimes even the Abetouro-comum is heard or seen. In the forest, you will find woodpeckers and other forest birds. On and around the water, you can see various bird species such as Pato-branco, Ostraceiro, Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Felosa-malhada, Pato-trombeteiro, Marrequinha-comum, Cegonha-branca and Colhereiro. A regular winter visitor is the Piadeira.

Nederlands: Het Bieslandse Bos is een afwisselend natuurgebied met moeras, ruigte, bos en open polder midden in het stedelijk gebied gelegen tussen Den Haag, Pijnacker, Nootdorp en Delft. Het gebied is relatief jong. Pas halverwege de jaren tachtig is begonnen met het graven van de ondiepe waterpartijen met flauwe oevers. Inmiddels is het Bieslandse Bos uitgegroeid tot een bosrijk gebied met open ruimtes. Dankzij de grote variëteit aan landschappen kun je veel verschillende vogelsoorten aantreffen. In het rietkragen vind je Pisco-de-peito-azul, rouxinol-dos-caniços, Felosa-dos-juncos, Felosa-unicolor, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Frango-d'água en soms wordt zelfs de Abetouro-comum gehoord of gezien. In het bos vind je spechten en andere bosvogels. Op en rond het water kun je verschillende vogelsoorten zien zoals Pato-branco, Ostraceiro, Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Felosa-malhada, Pato-trombeteiro, Marrequinha-comum, Cegonha-branca en Colhereiro. Een vaste wintergast is de Piadeira.

The Bieslandse Bos is situated between The Hague, Pijnacker, Nootdorp, and Delft. It is easily accessible by bicycle, on foot, or by public transport. There are several parking areas around the site. Click on a P on the map for directions to a parking lot. You can explore the area thoroughly via the many walking and cycling paths. The walking route indicated on the map is 6.5 km, but this is just a suggestion; there are many other paths to explore. Dogs must be kept on a leash in this area.

Nederlands: Het Bieslandse bos ligt tussen Den Haag, Pijnacker, Nootdorp en Delft. Gemakkelijk bereikbaar met de fiets, te voet of met openbaar vervoer. Er liggen ook verschillende parkeerplaatsen rondom het gebied. Druk op een P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar een parkeerplaats. Via de vele wandel- en fietspaden kun je het gebied goed verkennen. De wandelroute die is aangegeven op de kaart is 6,5 km, maar is slecht een suggestie, er zijn nog vele andere paden te verkennen. Honden moeten aangelijnd zijn in dit gebied.
