The Berkenwoudse Driehoek & Boezoemvaart is a typical Dutch polder landscape that is characterized by extensive pasture lands, countless ditches and endless reed collars. In the right time of year the air is filled with the sound of rouxinol-dos-caniços, Felosa-dos-juncos, Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Ostraceiro and Perna-vermelha-comum. The habitat provides good hunting grounds for egrets, herons and storks. Next to the Garça-real , the Garça-roxa is not a rare sight here. In the Boezemvaart only a few meters from the bikinglane a small colony of Gaivina-preta breed on small islands in between fields of water lily. Next to birds the area also has a great variety in plants and insects.

Acesso
The Boezemvaart is easily accessible. There is a car park at the Westeinde from where a biking lane stretches all the way along the Boezemvaart that can be done by bike or foot. You'll find the Gaivina-preta about 200m north of the parking. Berkenwoudse Driehoek is best done on foot.
