The Balgzandpolder has a lookout point where you can observe resting wading birds very well. Especially during high tide many bird species rest here. See the link to the tide table at the bottom of this page to check the optimal visiting time. Among the birds you can encounter are Pato-branco, Ganso-de-faces-negras, Fuselo, Ostraceiro, Narceja-comum, Perna-vermelha-escuro, Perna-vermelha-comum, Alfaiate, Arrabio and Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis.
