The Asserbos is located in city of Assen, which is the capital of the province of Drenthe. This old landscaped forest is a wonderful place for watching birds. There are many (short) hiking opportunities. There is a wide variety of bird species. Guarda-rios-comum, different types of woodpeckers, Coruja-do-mato, Trepadeira-azul and other birds can be seen here.
