The channel between the 2 main islands forms a migration bottleneck in early spring, especially for Marreco and Zarro-castanho , as well as Arrabio, Maçarico-galego, Maçarico-de-bico-direito and various other species. On good days several hundred birds can be seen of various species. The best days for duck migration usually correlate with the March full moon. Find somewhere to watch over the channel with a scope and hope for the best.
