Descrição
The Aammiq marsh lies on one of the most important bird migration routes in the world. Over 250 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including the globally vulnerable Águia-gritadeira, Águia-imperial-oriental, Peneireiro-das-torres. Records of globally near-threatened bird species at the wetland include Narceja-real, Zarro-castanho and Tartaranhão-de-peito-branco. The main area of reedbeds and open pools covers 253 hectare.
