Walking down the road towards the ruins of Grosnez Castle, you will pass heathland dominated by gorse, bracken and heather, home to birds such as the Petinha-dos-prados, Cartaxo-comum, Felosa-comum and Pintarroxo-comum, whilst overhead, looking for small mammals are peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro, Águia-d'asa-redonda and Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis. In spring 2025 there were at least 3 pairs of Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis resident
Upon reaching the castle, it is possible to follow paths in either direction along the cliff top. Heading south you can walk to the WWII German observation post and even to the Batterie Molkte gun emplacements, whilst heading north the route takes you to Plemont. The cliffs are home to a variety of seabirds such as Alcatraz-comum, gaivota-da-asa-escura, Gaivota-argêntea, Gaivota-parda, Ostraceiro and Corvo whilst out to see Arau-comum and Pardela-sombria can often be seen.

Grosnez is located in the extreme northwest of the island of Jersey. The number 9 bus from Liberation Buss station in St Helier goes to the site (get off at Grosnez House). There is parking near the racecourse and also a car park at Grosnez Castle. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. The road from the racecourse to the castle is tarmac and then the coastal paths are a mix of gravel, rocks and grass.
