Descrição
Hopeland is part of the Wexford Harbour and Slobs special protection area and in winter it regularly holds nationally important numbers of Ganso-de-faces-negras and Pato-branco.
Low tide is best for the most variety of species, particularly waders, but high tide is also good for large roosting flocks and for ducks such as Pato-olho-d'ouro, Pato-de-cauda-afilada and Merganso-de-poupa. Esmerilhão can be readily encountered in the area in winter, while Tartaranhão-azulado can also be observed on occasion.
