Zaribar, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Iran, covers an area of 5 to 8 km². It is one of the main tourist attractions of Marivan and serves as a vital habitat for several breeding bird species, such as the Mergulhão-de-crista and Galinha-d'água. It is also considered one of the best places in Iran to observe the Felosa-unicolor. As hunting is prohibited in the area, birds tend to come closer, offering better opportunities for photography.

Located just 3 km west of Marivan City, Zaribar Lake is easily accessible by car. Once there, you can walk along the lakeshore - especially the southern part - and enjoy the scenery and birdlife. It’s a great spot to spend an hour observing various bird species. While you can’t walk around the entire lake, you can drive to other parts by car.
