Nagy-tó means Big Lake. In this large wetland next to the village of Tiszaalpár there is a big heron nesting colony in the willows-jungle around the Big Lake. Plenty of Socó-taquari, Garca-vaqueira, Garça-branca-pequena, Garça-branca-grande, Garça-real, Garça-roxa, Colhereiro and Papa-ratos nest in the area. But there are many other interesting birds to see like Gaivota-de-cabeça-preta, Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo, Merganso-pequeno, Águia-rabalva and Petinha-de-garganta-ruiva.
