Descrição
Just north of Sigri, several irrigated fields and groves are located. These areas can be packed with migrants during spring migration; especially during fall conditions. The groves can be packed with flycatchers, redstarts, warblers, buntings, Papa-figos and chats. The wires and fences are worth checking for migrating shrikes, like Picanço-barreteiro and Picanço-pequeno. Harriers tend to hunt above the surrounding fields, like Tartaranhão-caçador. In winter, Guarda-rios-comum can be seen next to the shoreline.
Migration can be seen during mostly the morning, and large flocks of raptors, falcons, storks, herons, swifts and bee-eaters can be seen flying overhead.
Locally, Peneireiro-das-torres breeds and tend to forage in these fields too. Pairs are often mixed with other falcons, like Falcão-de-pés-vermelhos.
